Golden Retrievers Need You!
We have been told what a great group we are and what a wonderful service we provide for our dogs. We are always grateful for the compliments and are quite proud of the job we do. We have worked hard to make a successful program for homeless Goldens in Central Texas. But, like any successful business, we are only as good as our help. The core group of volunteers that started this group are still in place and we have added many new faces along the way, but we can always use more. We've spent countless hours building the foundation and we've thoroughly enjoyed it all. We have a vision for the future and need your help to fulfill it.
If you have any questions email us at volunteer@grr-tx.com and someone will contact you. If you are ready to volunteer please fill out the form below.
GRR is an all-volunteer organization. We hold volunteer orientation webinars every other month and hope you can attend the next one so you can learn firsthand about Gold Ribbon Rescue and the many different volunteer opportunities.

Gold Ribbon Rescue Needs You! The long-lasting success of this organization depends on you, our future leaders and volunteers. This questionnaire is designed to help us get to know you, so that we can do our best to place you in a role where your skills will be best utilized and your volunteer experience will be as rewarding as possible. Once we receive your completed application our volunteer coordinator will be in contact with you to discuss what role may be best for you. Please note that we do not have a shelter facility so we do not need for folks to walk, play or feed our dogs as all foster dogs are in an approved GRR foster home.
We currently need new volunteers to:
- Conduct telephone interviews
- Conduct in-person home visits
- Write marketing copy for emails
- Foster a dog in your home: to learn about fostering click HERE.

GRR Volunteer Code of Conduct
Gold Ribbon Rescue, Inc. ("GRR") is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization, whose main function is to provide a network for sheltering, rehabilitation and placing Golden Retrievers in permanent homes in Central Texas. GRR's second function is to provide public education about responsible dog ownership and, in particular, about the Golden Retriever Breed. Third, GRR provides a forum for Golden Retriever fanciers to meet.
We appreciate your interest in volunteering to assist GRR in meeting its mission.
Because we are an all-volunteer organization, our volunteers are our most valuable asset, and are the core of what allows us to meet our mission and carry on our core functions. Our volunteers are highlyvisible members of the local and regional community, and, through social media, an international community. The core values of GRR are often judged by the behavior and projection of GRR volunteers.
For purposes of this VCC, “Volunteer(s)” is defined as any person conducting any business or communication in a role representing, or on behalf of, Gold Ribbon Rescue.
- Volunteers or groups of Volunteers using the name Gold Ribbon Rescue or GRR in any outreach, fundraising, intake, adoption, or other substantive activity represent GRR and the integrity of the organization.
- Volunteers must not use curse words, foul, vulgar or discriminatory language in verbal or written communication in their roles as GRR representatives.
- Volunteers will contact the Board of Directors or Committees if/when they have any concerns or feedback related to actions or activities of the organization. Any concerns can be discussed privately with relevant parties.
- Volunteers must not convey any political or advocacy stance as a representative of GRR, other than advocating for dogs falling under the GRR mission and/or other animals (e.g., companion pet clause) directly affected by programs of GRR.
- Volunteers are expected to understand the risks associated with volunteering. Further, volunteers hereby waive any claims against, indemnify, and hold harmless GRR, its respective officers, directors, employees, sponsors, representatives and volunteers from any and all liability, including attorney fees that may result from illness, personal injury, property damage, or wrong doing resulting from involvement with GRR volunteer program.
- Volunteers should make every effort possible to speak personally to members of the direct and extended community (to include adoption applicants, donors, shelter employees, sponsors, vendors, etc.) in the event of any potentially contentious decision or action of the organization, rather than leaving a voice mail or sending an email.
- Volunteers must not share or sell contact or other identifying information of any Volunteers, Members or Donors to/of GRR with those not included in the aforementioned list.
- Volunteers should not disparage other Volunteers or Members of GRR publicly (e.g., via email, social media, etc.)
- GRR will not discriminate on the basis of race, ethnicity, disability, gender, color, religion, sexual orientation, geography, or age. GRR will follow this policy in selection of volunteers. Volunteers are expected to adhere to these same standards in the course of their duties.
